The year 2023 has been very rich in activities and projects preparation within the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean. We will tell you more about it soon...
In 2024, the Euroregion will turn 20 years old! An opportunity to renew our image with a simplified logo, and to affirm our unique identity: we continue to cooperate, innovate and reinvent, navigating towards a shared and resilient future in our beautiful territory!

A clean image and the launch of our 20th anniversary!
|
|
|
In autumn 2024, the Euroregion will celebrate its 20th anniversary! A perfect occasion to put in a broader perspective our evolution and all the projects we have carried out or supported, and our great dynamism, reflecting the ambitions of the 2021-2030 roadmap designed with our three member governments: the Generalitat de Catalunya (current presidency), the government of the Balearic Islands and the Region of Occitania.

Since our constitution in Toulouse in February 2023, we have built numerous bridges with other youth organisations, in Europe and in the Mediterranean, such as Youth & Environment Europe and Mediterranean Youth Council, among others.
|
|
Our goals?
|
|
We have drawn up our statutes and are structured in different commissions: Languages and Culture Commission, Economic Sustainability and Environment Commission, Inclusion and Social Rights Commission, as well as the Communication and Legality Commissions, with feminism and equality as cross-cutting issues.
|

Waste collection in coastal environment, simultaneously in a natural park in each member territory of the Euroregion.
|

This year the focus was on cigarette butts, which are highly polluting, with educational activities for the young people who took part in the action.

With the participation of EYA members in all three sites, where they carried out awareness-raising and other activities.

Youth language contest on social media
|
|
The second edition of the competition for young "influencers" of the Euroregion in Catalan and Occitan was launched in two phases, according to the age of the participants. Applications can be made individually, collectively or by organisations.

Maritime Hub 2023
|
|
The Maritime Hub congress was the opportunity to present to the participants and potential project partners the scope of the strategy of the Eastern Coastal Functional Area (AFLE) of the POCTEFA programme, which is managed and dynamised by the Euroregion.
|
|
|
|
The Euroregion, together with the BlueNet Network and the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat, organised this reference congress for the blue economy, through its Higher Education and Research Commission, including numerous partners related to the environment and sustainability.
|
|
|
|
|
|

Launch of the CESAM project in Perpignan | 17/10/23
|
|
On 16 and 17 October, the partner entities of this new project led by the Euroregion met at the Palace of the Kings of Mallorca for the official kick-off, in the presence of representatives of the States and the European Commission.
|
|
|
|
|
|
The CESAM project - Circular Economy and Sustainable Solutions for Agrifood in the Mediterranean - is developed in the framework of the ERDF funds for the Interregional Innovation Investment Instrument (I3) managed by EISMEA. It will last 3 years, with a total budget of more than €3 million, 70% co-financed by the EU.

Mediterranean Day high-level online conference | 28/11/23

On the occasion of the annual Mediterranean Day, coordinated by the Generalitat of Catalonia, several project partners and beneficiaries presented the results obtained thanks to the actions implemented within the framework of the Life WAT'SAVEREUSE project.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
After 3 years in operation, despite the difficulties related to the conditions for implementing water savings and reuse measures in the tourism sector in the context of the pandemic, the initiatives carried out and the results are encouraging in terms of their replicability in other territories.
|
|
|

News from the Euroregion's team:

We welcome Joan Lloret, who joined the team in the spring as Head of Environment, Climate Change and Energy projects.
On the other hand, we would like to thank Ariadna Antón for having accompanied us during these three and a half years, first as a trainee and then as the Communication Manager of the Wat'SaveReuse project. Ariadna, we wish you new and enriching experiences in this new working stage!
