When and how?

Applications could be submitted from January, 1 to March, 1, 2022, digitally only and exclusively via the website of the CTP.

Who?

The East Zone includes the departments of Pyrénées Orientales, Ariège and Haute Garonne, as well as Andorra and the whole of Catalonia. The SGAR Occitanie and the ANCT are also members of the East Zone, together with the above-mentioned territories.

Projects submitted may include partners located outside the eligible territories, provided that they are not lead partners, as their own budget will not be subsidised.

For whom?

Members must be at least two entities or bodies with legal personality, either public or private, from an eligible territory.

Projects from the following sectors can be submitted: culture, tourism, sport, education, youth, social action, health, agriculture, agri-food and environment.

Deadlines and calendar

The deadline for applications was March 1, 2022. A total of 151 applications were submitted.
The admissibility decision is available on the CTP website.

The final decision on the selected microprojects, published on 16/06/22, is available here and on the CTP website.

On 20 January, 2022, a general presentation webinar was held, to explain the call in broad terms as well as to answer first questions.

Euroregional calls

How much?

• The micro-projects selected in our area, which will be 7 or 8 in number, will be financed at 100% of the eligible expenses (maximum €25,000/micro-project), and will have to develop concrete and innovative local actions in the sectors of culture, tourism, sport, education, youth, social action, health, agriculture, agri-food or the environment.
• As you can see, the field of action is very broad and complete, in order to stimulate and support cross-border initiatives with visible benefits in the eligible territories.

Our area has the particularity of allowing possible partners from the Balearic Islands to benefit from financial support of up to €8,000, provided that the lead partner is from one of the eligible territories mentioned below.

Description : The agrifood sector is one of the pillars of today’s global economy and one of the key components of this industry is water. Water is an essential resource at many stages, from production (irrigation) to food processing (processing, cleaning and disinfection). The agrifood sector is a large consumer of water, with two major recurring challenges in the context of climate change and the depletion of resources: Optimizing the quantity of water necessary to avoid waste and losses; Limit the impact and enhance the value of treatment water, often considered as wastewater and released into the environment. Water management is still today one of the main environmental challenges of the industry and it is essential to pursue sustainable development efforts to reduce water consumption and reduce its environmental impact.

Description : The Euroregion Pyrenees-Mediterranean  is made up of the Balearics, Catalonia and Occitania. A considerable part of this territory has an important tradition in the production of quality food, with its own personalities such as oils, wines, sausages, cheeses, etc. distinguish by guaranteeing a differentiated quality either for a specific quality or characteristics linked to the particular geographical environment and for having exceeded the strict security and control mechanisms established by the EU in order to obtain the DO or IGP device.

This differentiated quality, in an age of navigation like the present one, when production incomes have declined, can give an intrinsic value to agricultural production and help increase the maintenance capacity of farms and ensure self-sufficiency in the face of to future crises. In addition, quality food promotes rural and sustainable development, the circular economy, the local sale of local producers and processors, all of which are necessary to ensure the post-Covidien-19 territorial balance.

The Xarxa d’aliments de qualitat de l’Euroregió Pirineus Mediterrània projecte was born with the desire to create an innovative ecosystem of the agro-food sector at the Euroregional level which, on the one hand, facilitates the knowledge of the different actors who compose it and who, d ” on the other hand, instead, piloting the transfer of knowledge and technologies generating the emergence of new collaborations and innovative project ideas to meet the challenges of the sector.

Description : kmCAT (see www.kmcat.coop) already has two technological platforms which will become operational before the end of 2020 and has its own structure equivalent to a technological center, without which it would be impossible to manage the two platforms on which it is based. activity of the cooperative enterprise. The first platform, Mercado Abierto, is a multisectoral “Marketplace” and the second, Conecta Empresas, is a B2B platform prepared to exchange services and knowledge or to share projects, including R & D & I , between companies and professionals. economic fabric of the kmCAT field of action which initially covers Catalonia, Roussillon, Andorra and the Aragonese regions which traditionally have close economic relations with Catalonia.
kmCAT has already registered consumers and suppliers from all these territories (around 10,000 consumers and a little over 2,500 suppliers – producers, manufacturers and local businesses). These more than 2,500 registered suppliers, from ten different sectors, and the Conecta Empresas platform represent the sufficient basis to structure different business clusters, one of the objectives of kmCAT.
Before the end of this year 2020 enters the beta phase, to test the stress of the platforms and the logistics system. Consequently, the actions planned from now on will be to ensure the proper functioning of the entire system, to constantly expand both our social base – consumers and suppliers, fundamentally – and the offer of products and services.

Agrocoquilles

Description : To study the effectiveness of shellfish by-products in vineyards and agriculture, and their bioavailability as a source of calcium for livestock. In the context of climate change, the Agrocoquilles project, led by the Providentiel shellfish (Toulouse), the French Institute of vine and wine (Tarn), the consulting company Agrossessor (Girona) and the association of organic farmers of Mallorca (APAEMA, Mallorca), aims to study the impact of the use of seafood in the agricultural sector of the Mediterranean Euroregion, to share among its 4 partners the experiences and results acquired throughout the project and disseminate the results in universities, institutions and agricultural sectors, in particular organic agriculture. Context and issues: scientific study on the value of local promotion of seafood by-products in the agricultural sector, a circular economy approach. In agriculture, the oyster shell amendment is mainly used as a pH corrector. But there are other properties, such as increasing the biological activity of soils, the ventilation of compacted soils, the supply of minerals and trace elements, increased resistance of plants to diseases and the prevention of hypocalcemia which has been observed but not found in studies.

Euroregion Subsidy : 10 000 €

Description : The proposal aims to strengthen relations between three leading research institutes, located in the three regions of the Euroregion: the Oceanological Observatory of Banyuls sur mer (OOB, Occitanie), the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA , Balearic Islands) and the Genomic Regulation Center – National Center for Genomic Analysis (CRG CNAG, Catalonia). The networking program includes close collaboration with a local biotech SME, MR&C, based in Banyuls sur mer, specialist in the development of biosensors and already a partner of the OOB. The program also benefits from the support of Biocat, the organization that coordinates, energizes and promotes industrial applications of life sciences in Catalonia.
The specific objective is to apply genomics technologies to increase the control of marine biodiversity in order to preserve important marine resources in agriculture, in particular in aquaculture as a food reserve and source of nutrients. The partners bring complementary experience in marine biology, genomics, metabolomics and molecular biosensors. More specifically, as a cooperative pilot project, the network will study the use of environmental DNA (eDNA) as a tool to identify biomarkers for the aquaculture sector related to the risk assessment of ectoparasites and other pathogens. and / or toxic organisms.
