Background

The Euroregion, a resilient territory by 2030

The objective of the Euroregion is to become a resilient territory by 2030, acting for a Europe of the territories.

The Euroregion wants to:

  • create a hub of sustainable development in the north-west of the Mediterranean based on the social, environmental, cultural and economic integration of the territory;
  • contribute to the construction of a Europe of regions, united, supportive and close to citizens.

Its challenges are:

  • to assert itself as a territory of projects on a European scale;
  • to defend with one voice essential projects for the balanced and sustainable development of our territories, preserving our natural wealth;
  • to improve the competitiveness of the territory by placing people at the heart of the action;
  • to become a European pole and the Mediterranean basin of green and blue growth through innovation and the links woven between our university, technological, scientific and cultural centers, as well as between economic actors.

In 2014, the Committee of the Regions considered the Euroregion to be the “best European territorial cooperation structure”, a true laboratory that has subsequently served as inspiration for other initiatives as it was one of the first Euroregional organizations created in Europe.
