Young people are the driving force behind the future of the Euroregion Pyrenees-Mediterranean, which is why it is essential to listen to their concerns and incorporate them into the design of Euroregional policies. Their participation is promoted across the board in strategic areas such as culture, sports, environmental education, tourism-related training, and the promotion of young talent.
Within this framework, the Euroregion is strengthening its support for the Euroregional Youth Assembly (AEJ), created in 2023, which is beginning its second term this year, and is working to strengthen its coordination with other European platforms. The goal is to amplify the voice of young people and increase their capacity to influence at the European level.
Young people are active protagonists in the Euroregional project. The Euroregion works to promote their involvement in joint initiatives, access to new job and entrepreneurship opportunities, and sports as a tool for cohesion, well-being, and social inclusion. Educational, cultural, and sporting exchanges help to overcome borders, establish new partnerships, and strengthen the sense of European and Euroregional citizenship.
At the same time, support for the social and solidarity economy, gender equality, interculturalism, and European values are becoming fundamental pillars for building a more just, sustainable, and participatory region. In this way, the Euroregion is consolidating itself as a space of opportunity and projection for new generations, placing them at the center of social and territorial transformation.
