Euroregional Youth Assembly

2022 was the European Year of Youth and the Euroregion wanted to contribute fully to it with a better participation of young people in the Euroregional action and thus achieve the objectives of its new road map. Therefore, at the end of 2022, the Euroregion issued a call for the participation of young people in the first Euroregional Youth Assembly that has been constituted with young people from the three territories.
This year, 2024, the second call for applications is open to all young people residing in the three member territories of the Euroregion: the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Occitania who wish to apply as members of the Euroregional Assembly.

Applicants

All young people residing in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Occitania aged between 16 and 30 years old. Minors must have parental authorisation to participate and also to travel outside their national territory.

Deadline and application procedure:

  • Opening of the call for applications from 9th December 2024 to 26th January 2025
  • Notification to the selected candidates during February

Those wishing to apply must fill in the form and attach their “letter of motivation” in free format, i.e. in the medium of their choice (written/drawn/video/sound, etc.), as defined in the rules.

2024 Call for Culture projects

The Euroregion Pyrenees-Mediterranean values ​​the cultural, linguistic and heritage diversity of its territory. The Euroregion is a reference area at European and Mediterranean level in terms of cooperation in the cultural field, particularly in support of development and artistic creation in all its forms, and in the promotion of all its heritage.

This call for cultural projects is part of the Euroregion roadmap, in order to build a resilient future by 2030. It plans to promote cultural diversity within the Euroregion and a culture open to the Mediterranean basin, and in solidarity with other territories.

CREA OCCAT | Young creators on social networks in Catalan and Occitan

A new roadmap was approved in 2021, which is committed to a strong culture with a Euroregional Mediterranean identity. In this sense, with regard to the strategic axis of culture, the Euroregion wants to enhance the value of its Euroregional languages and new cultures: boosting the practice and exchanges between young people around Euroregional languages and culture, and facilitating social integration and exchanges related to respect for cultural and linguistic diversity.

Within this framework, a competition is being promoted for young creators on social networks in Catalan and Occitan in the Euroregion.

We are looking for youth initiatives on social networks that promote the use of Catalan and Occitan so as to acknowledge the value / quality of youth initiatives that generate a positive impact on Catalan and Occitan in society, influence the way these languages are perceived and promote knowledge, presence and use in the youth community.

Target audience

Individuals, informal groups or entities aged between 14 and 30, linked to the territories of the Euroregion (Catalonia, Balearic Islands and Occitania).

Objectives

  • To promote the use of the Catalan and Occitan languages in all areas of society.
  • Foster youth initiatives that promote the use of the Catalan and Occitan languages among young people on the Internet.
  • Involve citizenship in Euroregional action and young people in particular in the context of the European Year of Youth.
  • Encourage linguistic and cultural exchanges between regions.
  • Support young people who create or present content on any subject on social networks in Catalan and Occitan.

Timing and operation

  • Call open from 29 September 2023 to 8 January 2024 for Line 2 (19-30) and until 12 March 2024 for Line 1 (14-18)

Euroregional Youth Assembly

2022 was the European Year of Youth and the EPM wanted to contribute fully to it with a better participation of young people in the action of the EPM and thus achieve the objectives of its new road map. Therefore, at the end of 2022, the EPM issued a call for the participation of young people in the first Euroregional Youth Assembly that has been constituted with young people from the three territories.
In April 2023, a new registration deadline opens for young people from the Balearic Islands and Catalonia who wish to submit their candidacies as members of the Euroregional Youth Assembly, with the aim of filling the vacant positions in each territory.

Applicants

All young people residing in Catalonia or the Balearic Islands, aged between 16 and 30 years old. Minors must have parental authorisation to participate and also to travel outside their national territory.

Objectives

  • To take up issues that it deems important to deal with.
  • As such, it is a consultative body of the EPM.
  • To make proposals to the elected members of the EPM to carry out actions or propose the implementation of specific policies between the three member regions.
  • Exchanges and debates between members of the assembly.
  • To know and learn about the functioning of European territorial cooperation institutions such as Euroregions.
