Higher education and research

Background

The Euroregion has a first-rate university and scientific ecosystem, with more than 700,000 students, professors and researchers.

In this context, the 2021-2030 roadmap sets the objective of intensifying mobility and support for universities, their research centres, students and researchers, in order to prepare them for the challenges of teaching and research in an increasingly uncertain future.

One of the central axes is to promote the role of young people, offering them opportunities for cooperation and mobility not only between universities and research centres, but also between young learners, secondary school students, interns and young people entering the labour market.

To achieve these objectives, the Euroregion is committed to university and scientific cooperation within the Euroregional and European framework, promoting joint projects that strengthen the connection between its territories.

In this context, the Euroregion also offers scholarships for paid internships at its headquarters in Perpignan, aimed at students at Master 2 level or equivalent. These internships allow them to acquire experience in areas such as institutional communication, European project management and territorial cooperation, while promoting professional training and the mobility of young people within the Euroregional space.

In addition, it offers students the Xecs Eurocampus mobility programme, a €600 grant for master’s and bachelor’s degree students from the Euroregion who are studying at one of the universities in the three member regions.
