The Euroregion is a benchmark at European and Mediterranean level for cooperation in the field of artistic creation in all its forms and for the promotion of all its heritage, including linguistic heritage.
Culture and language connect us to our history, traditions, and communities, and constitute a shared heritage that must be preserved and passed on to future generations.
The roadmap places culture at the center of Euro-regional construction, as a tool for improving citizen inclusion and participation through the promotion of cultural diversity.
One of the main actions included in the 2030 roadmap is the annual call for Euroregional cultural grants (APC), which began in 2010.
Through participatory projects, the Euroregion aims to help spread Euroregional talent, foster a common identity, and consolidate projects that promote creativity, exchange, and innovation between Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and Occitania. In addition, to promote visibility and cooperation between creators, entities, and institutions, a map of cultural actors has been created and is constantly growing.
It should be noted that this commitment to the culture of the Euroregion was recognized at the European level in 2019 with the award from the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR).

Native languages play a fundamental role as vehicles of knowledge, identity, history, and social integration. Promoting them among young people helps to strengthen a Mediterranean and inclusive Euro-regional identity. To this end, actions are being carried out to promote Euro-regional languages, such as territorial mobility and purely linguistic projects.
After more than a decade of cultural calls for proposals, in 2020 a specific line aimed at the recognition and promotion of the Catalan and Occitan languages was launched for the first time. The CREAOCCAT competition was created to support young content creators and help the Euro-regional cultural sector cope with the effects of the Covid-19 crisis. Since then, the CREAOCCAT competition has been held three times, establishing itself as a key tool for strengthening creativity, cooperation, and the projection of the Euroregion’s languages on social media.
