3rd Edition of CREAOCCAT | New Format of the Creators’ Contest on Social Networks in Catalan and Occitan

Background

In 2021, a new roadmap that focuses on a strong culture anchored in a Mediterranean Euroregional identity was adopted. In this sense, with regard to the strategic axis of culture, the Euroregion wishes to promote its Euroregional languages as well as new cultures. To this end, initiatives are encouraged to promote the practice and exchanges between young people around Euroregional languages and culture, while facilitating social integration and respect for the cultural and linguistic diversity of the territory.

In this context, a competition for young creators on social networks in Catalan and Occitan in the Euroregion was born, known as CREAOCCAT.

The new Presidency of the Balearic Islands, which includes among its priority objectives the promotion of culture and sport (axis XII), is counting on the continuity of this initiative. It also reaffirms its commitment to involve young people in the construction of the future Euroregional.

After the success of the previous editions, we present the 3rd edition of the CREAOCCAT Competition with a completely renewed version!

Discover here the winners of the 3rd edition of the CREAOCCAT competition!

This year, as a main novelty, the participation will be in groups of three content creators, with the aim of promoting cross-border collaboration and strengthening the links between young people from the three territories of the Pyrenees Mediterranean Euroregion.

Each selected content creator will receive a grant of €4,000 (for a total of €12,000 per project).

The three content creators will develop and publish 1 joint video per month as a team throughout 2026. CREAOCCAT is looking for innovative proposals for social networks that promote the cultural, linguistic and heritage richness of the Euroregion through several themes:

  • Euroregional gastronomy: promotion of the traditional cuisine and products of the Euroregion.
  • Euroregional heritage: dissemination of the historical and artistic heritage, landscape and natural values, as well as festivals, culture and traditions specific to the different territories, populations and places of the Euroregion.
  • The languages of the Euroregion: linguistic curiosities, history of the language, sayings and proverbs, etc.
  • Promotion of the Euroregion: dissemination of cultural, social and youth activities in the Euroregion.

In addition, we are open to receiving proposals on other themes, provided that they contribute to the dissemination and enhancement of the culture, heritage and identity of the Euroregion.
