The Euroregion’s LET’S CLEAN UP EUROPE 2023 Day: successful waste collection on protected beaches with young people
This third annual event, coordinated by the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean, resulted in the collection of 5,700 cigarette butts and 600 kg of litter in one hour.
The action raised awareness of the consequences of cigarette-butt pollution for the environment and biodiversity, among the 200 young volunteers mobilised in the three territories making up the Euroregion – the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and the Occitanie Region.
